The World War II Museum, Knitting for Veterans Campaign is a hugh success and still going strongly! They have new 2008 Scarf Patterns for both knitting and crochet. Both are in pdf format:

The Tuscaloosa News reports that Stitches from the Heart needs volunteers to knit, crochet or quilt blankets, sweaters and hats for babies. The items are donated to hospitals across the country. Call Kathy Silverton toll-free at: 866-472-6903 or email stitchfromheart@aol.com .

The Artists Helping Children Website

It does not appear as if Artists Helping Children directly receive or give the items. You donate them on your own. They do have lists for suggested hospitals and shelters.

We also too feature a Knit and or crocheted cap. This cap is made out of Deep Purple yarn and is adorned with the Purple Heart insignia. These caps are called “Kenny’s Kaps” in tribute for a Master Sgt. Kenneth Sargant, whom sustained Head Trauma in the War! He has recovered well and requested a purple skullcap from Me! This is where the concept originated. You can find the pattern in our web-site!
